There is another place in Word under Word Options -> Save, called "Default personal templates location". I had to enter an alternative path in this place as well, otherwise Word would still create the folder in "My Documents". Also, this option exists in Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and I had to do it in all three. Report abuse.
